VUM Inc.

The manufacturing company VUM, Inc. has been affiliated in with DELTA Consult, Inc. holding company since 2008 as a project for implementation of our crisis management procedures. The parent company took the opportunity, and based on the offer of the previous owner, bought a 100% stake in its portfolio.

We are currently implementing the management procedures, which we previously used for our clients, directly in the manufactory. While doing so, we are gaining invaluable experience and know-how for future projects from a deeper knowledge of the operations within a manufacturing company.

VUM, a.s. is a major Central European producer of carbon-based products based in Žiar nad Hronom.

The factory was built in the 1950s as part of the aluminum plant of The Plant of Slovak National Uprising and was used to produce anode material needed for the production of primary aluminum using the Sőderberg aluminium technology.

The factory has been continuously modernized, most intensively in the 90s of the previous century, when their focus changed and greater emphasis was placed on the production of electrode and calcined materials. At the same time, the company invested money in technologies and equipment to ensure occupational safety, health and environmental protection, which allowed the factory to obtain an IMS certificate.

The company's intention is to constantly increase the standard of product quality, develop new possibilities for the use of raw materials and new technologies, as well as the creation of new products.

Cooperation with renowned science and research institutions, which takes place in Slovakia at a joint university detached research and development worksite, significantly contributes to the fulfillment of these goals.
